4618 Munson Boots Nigel Cabourn Chocolate Muleskinner
Fitting information +
Red Wing Shoes tend to run larger than your regular shoe size. Please take this into consideration when purchasing a pair. We would therefore recommend to take this style a full size down. The Red Wing Munson boot is made using the Munson Lasts. The most common feature of the Munson Lasts is the shape of it's toe which biggest priority was the protecting of the wearers toes and feet. In 1912, Dr. Munson designed a last for infantry boots. Red Wing Shoes used these lasts while making boots for World War I & II till the late 1960's. Because of the collaboration with Nigel Cabourn this is the first time these lasts are used again in Red Wing Shoes Factories over five decades! The boots are lined with a beautiful army green Harris tweed selected by Nigel himself. The upper is made with a heavily oiled roughout leather to come as close as possible to Nigel's vintage Army boots. Rough-out leather is the flesh side of the hide facing out. Because of switching directions of the leather it ensures that the grain is unbroken which makes sure it's perfectly waterproof. The sole is made from a combination of vegetable-tanned leather and Red Wing’s original chemigum cork. They feature black thick leather shoelaces and matching eyelets.
